Our Loretto ministries are doing important work in our communities: offering a place and time for spiritual renewal and development; offering healing access to the land; advocating for the rights of migrants, refugees and trafficked persons; advocating for justice, peace and the integrity of creation; advocating for progress with Sustainable Development Goals; offering educational opportunities to students, teachers and young adults on issues of Justice…. and more.

Promotes the mission and charism of the Congregation of Jesus (CJ) to a variety of audiences. Promotes and is the point of contact for those wanting to know more about the life and ministries of the CJ and who may be interested in joining as consecrated religious, associates, and/or volunteers. Maintains accurate and confidential files, keeping office and materials in an appropriate manner, while managing the ministry expenses and budget.

The winter has been long and cold, albeit with a couple of fantastic weekend snowstorms to bring some excitement. January’s snowstorm saw students moving to online learning and others working from home. In February, students got a proper snow day off from their studies. For both snowstorms, Central Park was filled with families and kids sledding down hills, throwing snowballs, building snowmen, and letting their dogs frolic in the freshness.

Blessing for Sarah Rudolph IBVM, Sept 16, 2025. On this day 178 years ago, some of our sisters landed here to begin a new mission. With courage and vision, Teresa used her dowry not for herself, but to open a school for girls in Dublin.

It is with joy and gratitude that we share the attached wonderful news that IBVM members have voted in favour of merger with the Congregatio Jesu. Our foundress, and the great cloud of witnesses are smiling down on all IBVM and CJ sisters today.

Loretto Maryholme Update: As winter turned into spring, the centre has become busier with silent 3-day retreats as well as a number of private retreats. A few highlights were: hosting the Loretto Associates for a weekend; sharing two-days with the full staff of the Loretto Ministries; and a fully booked new writing retreat: Journaling as Spiritual Practice. An Earth Day event was a great start to re-engaging the local community in the Centre.

At the end of April, the staff of the Loretto Ministries gathered at Loretto Maryholme for a 2-day event: to become more immersed in the charism of Mary Ward and how this inspires us and resonates through our work; to follow the journey of Becoming One; and to connect as ‘one staff’ under the Mary Ward banner.
